Yes, you are quite correct in that 1.0.162.9 is the last version of Vivaldi that works on OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). If not, I guess I will either install 10.10.4 which I understand includes a fix for that discoveryd networking issue (by going back to mDNSResponder ) that has plagued some users of Yosemite or wait until "El Capitan" ships in the Fall. I will check back with future builds and Tech previews to see if this issue has been dealt with. It would have been nice if the developers had posted some kind of notice on the blog warning people still running 10.6.8 that they would have to update to a newer version of OS X in order to be able to install and use Vivaldi. So, I think perhaps beginning with 1.0.196.2 Vivaldi no longer runs on 10.6.8 but only on more recent versions of OS X. I was able to find a copy of 1.0.162.9 on a German web site of all places and downloaded and installed it and it opens and runs OK. The trouble for Snow Leopard users apparently began with–as you described it-1.0.196.2 and its big changes in Vivaldi for Mac. I tried installing 1.0.219.34 which would not open and run and then went back to 1.0.196.2 and bingo! That build will also not run so your hypothesis was on the money.
